My original intention with this blog was to document my pregnancy. However, we had some early scares and I felt like it was bad luck to document the whole thing for public viewing. Thankfully, everything has worked out and we are now a mere eight weeks away from meeting our little boy.
Little P is growing like a weed (weighing 3.5lbs two weeks ago) and basically has a 100% chance of survival if he were to be born today. The next few weeks will be exciting - maternity photos, baby shower, Thanksgiving, and Christmas - so I decided I will document those events.
School has been going well this semester, albeit busy. Everyone talks about them "boring you to death" your third year, but so far I have been far from bored. As I am taking 16 hours this semester, I will only need to complete five more hours in the spring to graduate. I have registered for three hours of advanced clinic (pass/fail, no final, no class) and a two hour "reading group" (pass/fail, no final, meets one day a week for two hours). To say I will be coasting is probably an understatement.
My pregnancy has been relatively easy despite those few early scares. Mostly I just feel enormous and gross. My hips are really starting to hurt and my back often aches after a long day at school. All of these things are normal, I'm told. Due to some slightly questionable first trimester screening, we have to go every week from here on out for fetal monitoring. Again, the doctor has said this is all precautionary and there is nothing to worry about. P has been developing completely normally and is actually above-average in terms of growth.
P is due on January 6th. Between now and then we have: a wedding, a baby shower, Thanksgiving, duck hunting (Paul only), finals, Christmas, and the New Year. Hopefully the time will fly by!
